Ask A Parasite?
(2021- ongoing) performance, Jayne Raper Lab, and people
Ask a Parasite (AAP) is a collaboration between scientists and the general public. AAP is a performance, in which participants are guided through a score/protocol, set of steps, developed in collaboration with members of the Jayne Raper Lab. AAP invites lab members and the public into an embodied experience of each other's worlds of questions.
As people enter the lab, they are guided through a lab safety briefing, given lab coats, and the ability to silently explore the space. This performative engagement hopes to create an inviting space within the scientific community for all people, regardless of background, in which questions are not only accepted but encouraged and celebrated.
